With the 18.0 release, you can prevent clients using locally-administered MAC addresses from accessing your network. Network administrators can ensure that only clients using their device’s globally unique MAC addresses are able to connect to the network. By making sure that only devices with globally unique MAC addresses connect to the network, you can mitigate potential security threats associated with spoofing or unauthorized access by having control over device identification.

In the 18.0 release, along with Slack, you can also subscribe to Google Chat and Microsoft Teams webhooks to receive alerts in your conversation channels whenever a network issue or anomaly is detected. Note: This is a BETA feature. Reach out to your Arista account manager to enable it.

With the 18.0 release, you can trigger the Auto-Channel Selection (ACS) Mode and Transmit Power Control (TPC) Mode for a radio on demand. In ACS Mode, the Access Point (AP) scans the network to select the best channel. In Auto-TPC Mode, the AP automatically adjusts its transmit power to minimize interference with neighboring Arista APs.

With the 18.0 release, you can perform Client Connectivity Tests (CCT) in a network that has deployed proxy servers.  CCT lets you use the Access Point’s third radio as a client that can connect to another AP you want to test. This gives you the ability to proactively validate network connectivity, the reachability of network services, and the quality of experience for critical applications such as VoIP.  For more information on CCT,

CloudVision Cognitive Unified Edge (CV-CUE) 18.0 introduces the following new features and enhanced functionalities:

Until now, a multi-band client (for example, a phone with 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz radios) could connect to an AP using only one of the bands. Therefore, only one connection link formed between the client and the AP. Multi-link Operation (MLO) is the capability of the client and the AP to connect to more than one band simultaneously establishing multiple links. The clients that are capable of communicating with each other over multiple radio links at the same time are called Multi-Link Devices (MLD).

With the 17.0 release, CloudVision Cognitive Unified Edge (CV-CUE) introduces a redesigned dashboard for viewing client details. The following image shows the new client details dashboard:  Along with client and network details, the client details dashboard also contains multiple data points regarding client connectivity, performance, and application experience. From a single dashboard, you can conduct live troubleshooting, and review past data to identify and troubleshoot past issues, thus resulting in a faster resolution.

In the 17.0 release, CV-CUE introduces FEED. FEED is a network dashboard that presents a timeline view of all the detected anomalies in the network. CV-CUE curates the FEED by continuously monitoring and proactively detecting anomalies in the network. It also analyzes the cause of the anomaly and provides dynamic suggestions to mitigate the issue. The administrator can analyze the issue, the AI-based recommended action, and then decide on the best approach to mitigate the issue. Feed also lets administrators go back in time and understand anomalies that occurred in the past.

With the 17.0 release, CloudVision Cognitive Unified Edge (CV-CUE) introduces the ability to schedule the generation of Client Visibility and Client Association reports. You can schedule report generation on a one-time basis or recurring basis.  Note: Users with Admin or Operator roles only can schedule a report.

With the 17.0 release, you can view the Tunnel Status and Tunnel State of the standby VXLAN tunnel. Until now, you could only see the status of the tunnel being used. There was no way to know if your standby tunnel was reachable or not. With this release, you can view the Tunnel Status and the Tunnel State of your primary or secondary tunnel operating in the Standby Mode.

With the 16.0 release, CV-CUE introduces Webhooks that let you send alert notifications in real time to third-party applications. By configuring a webhook, you can share content and notifications with external applications such as Microsoft Teams, ServiceNow, Slack, GSpace, etc.

With the 14.0 release, you can provide a custom name to your system backup file and also rename it. You can back up the entire system or only the configuration files, and restore them when needed.

With the 14.0 release, CV-CUE brings the ability to create checkpoints to save your current configurations, profiles, and settings. Creating and restoring a checkpoint is possible for all configuration settings available in CV-CUE. You can create a checkpoint for location based configurations, group configurations, or global configurations. For all the configurable settings that are available for a network, you can create a checkpoint to save it. 

Hotspot 2.0 is a standard for public-access Wi-Fi that enables seamless roaming among Wi-Fi networks and between Wi-Fi and cellular networks. With Hotspot 2.0, Passpoint-certified mobile devices such as laptops and smartphones can automatically discover and connect to Wi-Fi networks without the need of signing in manually. It is based on IEEE 802.11u standard for Interworking with External Networks.

With the 13.0 release, you can enable Target Wake Time(TWT) from CloudVision Cognitive Unified Edge (CV-CUE). TWT is one of the advanced features of Wi-Fi 6. It enables access points (AP) and stations (STAs) to negotiate schedules for active and sleep durations.

With the 13.0 release, CloudVision Cognitive Unified Edge (CV-CUE) lets you configure Unique PSK (UPSK) for client authentication. UPSKs allow users  to connect to the same SSID using a unique PSK which is user specific. UPSK provides added security as compared to single PSK because single PSKs are easily compromised.

In the 13.0 release, CloudVision Cognitive Unified Edge (CV-CUE) adds a new report and also includes some enhancements to existing reports.
