Arista’s 7170 Series: A modern approach to traditional challenges
July 9, 2020
Arista’s 7170 Series of programmable switches, based on Intel’s Tofino silicon, combines 6.4Tbps of forwarding with a fully programmable multi-stage pipeline to deliver a range of flexible solutions beyond the capabilities of traditional switches or routers. Data plane customization using EOS and P4 profiles addresses use-cases for Cloud Operators, Enterprises, Service Providers and Content Providers.
Today Service Provider, Cloud and Enterprise network engineers face challenges that traditional switches and routers or Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs) cannot meet, to deliver the combination of features and high performance cost effectively.
In this webinar we will discuss both the architecture of the Tofino silicon and how Arista takes advantage of the flexibility to address two of these modern challenges; Stateless NAT64 translation (MAP-T) for Service Provider networks at high scale with terabits per second of performance, and a disruptive solution simplifying server load balancing (SLB) at massive scale for web scale applications.
